"Black and White Rabbits"
36" x 24"
acrylic on canvas
For those of you who are familiar with my crow paintings, you know that the crows can do anything a human can do. They drive cars, practice yoga, one even had intuition.
In this painting I give these two rabbits that same elevated status. They sit patiently while their portrait is made in a formal studio setting. The chair has been reappearing in my paintings and is a connection to my Mom. The warm gray background studio setting is a connection to my photography days. This lovely pair of rabbits sits patiently while having their portrait made.
THANK YOU! A big thank you to all of you who have come out to my shows during 2006. Your support helps keep me going. I appreciate all of your good wishes, kind words, and conversations.
I wish you all the best in 2007.

I am thrilled and honored to say that I have been selected to participate in the sixth edition of the Florence Biennale in Florence, Italy. It will take place December 1-9, 2007 in the historical Fortezza da Basso. In 2001 The United Nations recognized the Florence Biennale as an official partner in the program "Dialogue Among Nations". The artists of the Biennale, despite their differences of language and faith, found a common language in art to communicate their cultural values, illustrating Kofi Annan's statement: "Art opens new doors for learning, understanding, and peace among people and nations".

Student Work

Same subject, two different interpretations by Linda (top) and Lisa (above). The assignment was to not only paint the boots but try to convey a feeling. Each achieved the goal in completely different ways. In Linda's painting the boots feel weathered and aged. In Lisa's painting the boots feel warm and inviting... ready to slip on.
Great work!!!
Do you want to learn to paint?
One or two hour sessions are available on Fridays. A cozy intimate classroom in my studio with no more than four students at a time. Lots of one on one time. No pressure or competition. A supportive, positive environment.
I hope you can join us.
