My interest in faces and figures continues. Here is a mixed media piece on paper. I have done a whole series of these that you will be able to see this weekend in my studio at Fall Open Studios and Benefit for Sacred Heart Community Service – November 7-8 with a reception from 2-5pm Saturday. Live music, food and beverages during the reception. There will be over 30 artists showing and selling their art at this event (all in one location). You won't want to miss it.
There will be a raffle each day. You might win a small piece of art!
11am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday, November 7-8. THIS WEEKEND!

I am happy to announce that my painting titled "Asymmetrical" (below) has been included in the 2009 Bay Area Annual Juried Exhibition.
The distinguished juror for the 2009 Bay Area Annual is JoAnne Northrup, who was appointed as the San Jose Museum of Art’s Katie and Drew Gibson Chief Curator in November 2008 after serving as Senior Curator from 2001 to 2008. From 1995 to 2001 she was Curator, Exhibits and Collections, at the de Saisset Museum, Santa Clara University, and from 1992 to 1995 she held a curatorial position at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, California.
The Bay Area Annual includes 43 artworks selected from 418 works entered by 141 California artists, and will fill the Main and West Galleries. Five of the 30 exhibiting artists will be selected to receive a $100 Juror’s Award. The exhibit extends through December 5, 2009.

Friday, October 30, 7-9 pm
Music provided by the harp duo of Shawna Spiteri and Portia Diwa from the group Triskela.
Juror's Talk:
Northrup will give a Juror’s Talk on Saturday, October 31, at 11 am.

"Fall Open Studios"
and Benefit
for Sacred Heart Community Service
This is my first open studio event at my new studio. I hope you'll be able to
come out and see my new studio, meet my new studio mate, Lisa Paige as well as over 30 other artists who will have their studios open for exhibition and sale.
A portion of sales at this event will benefit Sacred Heart Community Service.
Founded in 1964, Sacred Heart Community Service is dedicated to bringing our community together to address poverty in Silicon Valley. Through a comprehensive array of resources, services, and community involvement initiatives, SHCS is making a real impact in the lives of working poor families.
